My work is inspired by my heritage and travels. My first collection is inspired by my love of intriguing containers and boxes. I chose to look at tribal Southeast Asian jewellery; particularly shape, form and decoration. My designs developed around this concept and it soon became evident that there was a divide between designs based on decorated boxes and those with minimal bold forms. There were obvious similarities that linked them but there seemed a need to develop two alternative collections. The 'keep it' collection consists of lockets with bright gold interiors for your keepsakes. The 'and then…' collection is a continuation and more simplistic. They both form my first collection called 'The Beginning'. Sarah Ibrahim
